Legacy Receivers
KFRA-C Emergency Alarm Receiver
The KFRA-C Alarm Receiver is designed for monitoring and annunciation of virtually any type of KCi remote alarm transmitter or device. At least one signal transmission must be recorded no less than every 60 minutes according to NFPA 72.
An integral radio receiver can be installed for multi-point wireless communications at distances up to 15 miles (greater distances can be covered by using repeaters). Hard-wired alarms can be interfaced to the receiver and many different alarm types can be decoded and annunciated. Fire alarm, security, medical, water flow, smoke or heat detectors, manual station, pump, temperature, level and auxiliary devices can be monitored.
The annunciation section consists of high brightness displays, distinctive audible alarms, remote horn and optional dry contact outputs. An optional printer is also available for permanent record storage.
KFVC Transceiver
The KFVC Transceiver is a completely modular, self-contained conventional AM Repeater. The KFVC is a heavy duty panel capable of operating in a wide range of temperatures and designed to receive AM transmitter signals in areas where direct radio alarm transmission to the central station receiving console antenna is inhibited by geographical or manmade obstructions.
The KFVC is furnished in a NEMA 3R rainproof enclosure or a NEMA 1 indoor enclosure. In addition, the modular KFVC Panel has the capability of automatic radio reporting for alarms, supervisory, and trouble conditions with test status reporting for use with a compatible receiving unit and retransmitting.
Logic circuits are included which monitor the repeater activity and can detect fault conditions such as power failure, transmit failure, transmission without modulation and failure of the redundant repeater. The KFVC provides for the transmission of a repeater "TROUBLE" signal which will be received and annunciated at the central receiving station.
The repeater consists of a receiver section, a tone storage section, a transmitter, logic controls, power supply and cabinet. Two repeater units are used in tandem to conform to code requirements for redundancy. The logic sections of the two repeaters supervise each other to provide automatic switch over in case one unit should fail. Both repeaters are used during normal operation with each unit sending two transmissions of test, supervisory, or alarm signals.
KFRA-C Enclosures
KFRA-C Enclosures come in (3) options that house the KFRA-C Receiver and printer. These enclosures have a clean contemporary appearance and provide the benefits of economy, style and quality.
All Enclosures are fully welded cross member formed for a strong square corner design and come with two pair of adjustable zinc plated mounting angles constructed of 11 gauge steel. Each Enclosure comes with a pontoon base which can be used for floor tie down, caster or leveler mounting. The flush style doors feature a low profile lockable single point latch and quick removable lift on hinges. All sheet metal is finished with a high quality baking enamel with a smooth and textured finish.
Legacy Transmitter
S.T.A.R. SOFTWARE DEFINED RADIO TRANSMITTER
The STAR Software Defined Radio Fire Alarm transmitter, is a self-contained Auxiliary Signaling Device that responds to contact closures from standard fire panels, emergency switch devices, supervisory switch devices and auxiliary switch devices to generate an alarm message in a standard Kingfisher receiving processing unit format and transmits that message by radio. The STAR is contained in a NEMA-1 cabinet and derives power from a 120VAC circuit.
KFRTI-8S Combination Transmitter/Interface Panel
The KFRTI-8S Combination Transmitter/Interface Panel provides a unique savings by combining the Radio Transmitter and the KFRI Interface in a common NEMA 1 or 3R enclosure. Ideally suited when no direct public accessible functions are required. The Combination Transmitter/Interface Panel provides an economical solution for a radio fire alarm transmission and supervised monitoring system.
The KFRTI-8S Combination Panel offers the same reliable and efficient means of connecting local fire systems, emergency signals, or special supervised signals to the radio alarm master box electronics within the NEMA 1 or 3R enclosure. Complete reliability and flexibility are featured in the Combination Transmitter/Interface Panel satisfying the protection and safety requirements of any Government, industrial facility or municipality.
Battery backup after primary power loss. Both Radio Transmitter and Interface have Battery Chargers to keep batteries fully charged.
KFRI Interface Panel
The KFRI Interface Panel provides a reliable connection between interior alarm systems and radio alarm master box transmitters. In addition to KCi Panel features described in this bulletin, identical features are provided in the KFRTI-8S. The KFRTI-8S houses both the interface and transmitter circuitry in a common NEMA 3R rainproof enclosure.
KFRTI-20/52 Industrial Radio Alarm Control System
The KFRTI-20/52 Industrial Radio Alarm Control System is a completely modular, self-contained conventional Fire Alarm Control System. The KFRTI-20/52 is a heavy duty panel capable of operating in a wide range of temperatures and designed for detecting the operation of any approved signal initiating device, indicating the area of the alarm condition by annunciator LEDs, and operates all alarm and auxiliary devices.
The KFRTI-20/52 is furnished in a NEMA 3R rainproof enclosure or a NEMA 1 indoor enclosure. The KFRTI 20/52 has the maximum expansion of 20 or 52 zones, depending on the enclosure and options that are selected.
In addition, the modular KFRTI-20/52 Panel has the optional capability of automatic radio reporting for alarms, supervisory, and trouble conditions with test status reporting for use with a compatible receiving unit.
KFAPT Addressable Transmitter
The KFAPT gives emergency responding personnel detailed prior knowledge before arriving at the scene of an emergency. Advance information of a specific smoke detector, sprinkler water flow or manual pull station in alarm or trouble. Knowledge of the condition of any combination of initiating alarm devices can save precious minutes or even precious seconds by preplanning the response prior to arriving at the scene.
The KFAPT Addressable Transmitter provides the most reliable and efficient means of transmitting radio coded alarm and trouble signals to an Emergency Service Dispatch Center having a KFRA-C radio fire alarm receiver(s) up to 25 miles away.
The KFAPT can transmit instantaneously up to 1008 addressable devices. Individual coded alarm and trouble signals include smoke detectors, heat detectors, manual pull stations, sprinkler flow, tamper and much more. In fact all alarm and trouble signals received by the addressable fire alarm panel are duplicated by the KFAPT and transmitted.
