Project Details:
KFCi’s personnel performed all contract management, project management, design, procurement, engineering, construction, installation, testing, and training activities to design, build, and commission the MNS under the direct supervision of USACE. During installation, KFCi provided the MNS which included 2 command centers and 6 tower locations on the base. The command centers were located in two different locations to work in conjunction with each other. The command centers were installed with independent UPS systems for backup in case of loss of AC power. The Graphical Site Map was installed representing the locations of all Towers and coverage of MNS system. A design build concrete pad was designed and certified for a tower location to support 10 stack speaker arrays to withstand proper wind loads for the area. This was certified by a Professional Engineer, (PE) who was hired for this contract, to provide guidance and certification of the wind load compliance of the installation of all towers. The installation was based on the Unified Facilities Criteria (UFC) UFC 04-021-01 Design and O&M guide. All materials used in the installation of the MNS system were new and listed by U.L. or F.M. Conduit runs, wiring sizes, supports and hangers were installed in accordance with the guidelines set forth in the NFPA 70.
